【英文合同翻译要点32】基本用语/表现 - either与any; neither与none

在英文合同中，经常会使用either和any这两个词。两者都是“任意一方”的意思，对象数量为2时使用either，对象数量为3及以上时则使用any。

例：

（1） Either Party may terminate this Agreement if any of the following events occurs:

（2） Any Party may terminate this Agreement if any of the following events occurs:

上述两个句子说的都是：“任一当事人在发生以下事由之一时，可以解除本合同”的意思，其中（1）的合同当事人为双方，而（2）的合同当事人则为三方及以上。并且，这两个句子都暗示以下事由包含3条及以上。假设只有2个需要考量的事由，则if以后应该是if either of the following (two) events。

同样，在使用“任何一方都不是~”这一否定形式时，对象数量为2时使用neither或not either，对象数量为3及以上时使用no或none of。

例：Neither Party / None of the Parties may assign this Agreement

（任一当事人都不能转让本合同。）
